Utilizing single-cell RNA sequencing for analyzing the characteristics of PBMC in patients with Kawasaki disease

Abstract Background Kawasaki disease (KD) is the main cause of acquired heart in children and can lead to coronary artery lesions. This present study was designed analyze characteristics KD peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) through single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) explore potential molecular mechanism KD. Methods PBMC collected from one healthy child patient, used for cell clusters identification differently expressed gene (DEG) determination. GO function enrichment analysis DEG B T were performed most active biological immune cells. Results Twelve be identified two samples. Compared with child, naive CD8+ cell, helper decreased, mainly immune-related cells, natural killer (NKT) increased. Cell activation, lymphocyte activation regulation system process 3 shared by all four types cell. Conclusions Immune disorder appears patient at single level scRNA-seq.
